For window and door products, in order to be Energy Star qualified, they must meet certain performance criteria. The National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) was formed to be an independent 3rd party that could create and administer tests to provide a consistent way for anyone involved to make an informed decision regarding everything from building code compliance to product purchases.
Nearly every product Custom Built manufacturers can meet the criteria to be Energy Star certified for the Northern Region.
